Goeteborg Hostel - Gothenburg

Convenient location with easy access to public transport. Clean and well-organized rooms with good soundproofing. Friendly and helpful staff. Clear communication about check-in process for late arrivals. Enjoyable breakfast with excellent coffee.

We arrive a bit late after the office hours but we called the staff in advance. But we didn't find any bedsheets and quilt in our room so we had to sleep without them.

The rooms were very private.

Very hot in the hostel, over heated and dry.

I recently stayed at Goteborg Hostel for a few nights while visiting. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the installations were always clean. The rooms and lockers were spacious, and the extra heater was a nice touch. The breakfast was delicious with top-notch coffee, and the service was outstanding. The location was also convenient, just a short walk from Korsvagen and Liseberg. I had a great experience and would highly recommend this hostel for anyone visiting Goteborg.

The breakfast room and presentation was great, even high class hotels could learn a lot from them. Great WiFi with more than one router so even in this large distributed hotel there was good reception practically everywhere.

There was hardly any staff out side office hours, so it felt a bit unsupervised.

I did not like anything at all about this hotel or their staff.

First, the hotel really does not live up to its price in any way. It's a very basic hostel with shared bathrooms and rooms with no window at all, except for one up on the roof that you can't even close when it's too light. The hotel staff was absolutely horrible - they refused to call a taxi for my friends and I, even when she realized we had no phone with us and could not speak the local language. THen they also said they had an airport shuttle but what they actually meant by it was that there was a public bus that stopped near there, also impossible for a group of people with extremely heavy luggage.

The staff was nice and helpful, clean kitchen, no limit on kitchen usage, offered Glögg and biscuits for Christmas, friendly guests.

Nothing bad to say.

The location was perfect, close to Liseberg and Avenyn (main street, good for shopping and clubbing). It was cheap and you have the opportunity to cook your own food in the kitchen. There is a small supermarket right next to it. There was never a queue in the shared bathrooms (though we would sleep a bit longer than most people there it seemed, the last day when we got up at around 9 there was a small queue, but I didn't have to wait long).

The room was pretty small.

We came in right time - March. Hostel was almost empty, clean, quiet. No queques for showers. Nice kitchen and common spaces. Double rooms for this price are cool when travelling in a couple.

Rooms are very tiny, this could be a problem for someone with more luggage.

I had a great stay at a hostel in Gothenburg. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing clear instructions for everything. They even helped me quickly resolve an issue with the sheets. The room was clean and well-maintained, and I appreciated the convenient location close to the central station. The common kitchen and TV room were a nice bonus. Despite a couple of minor drawbacks - a slightly high price for a hostel and crowded rooms - I would still highly recommend this hostel. I had a positive experience and would definitely stay here again.

clean and value

Location is not as good as expected. Few minutes walk from one train stop, but not many trains pass by that stop.

There is in fact no problem to check in also after hours- you do not need to call long distance, just e- mail the day before you arrive. The breakfast buffet (mainly continental) was not fancy, but good value if you are hungry. Very clean bathroom, and all looked very well- kept and new, if not a bit sterile. So, If you are after a party hostel, you are out, as this one is on the educational side. And do not make a mistake to take a taxi from the train station, tram 2 and 4 take you directly there. Cannot say anything bad about the staff- remember that the concept of customer service, as known in other parts of the world, has entered Scandinavia not too long ago, and staff are not considered servants- which I cannot say is a bad thing.

There should be a possibility to rent linen, otherwise it is quite expensive for a double room.

The bunk beds were surprisingly quiet and comfortable, with curtains for added privacy. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing directions for my late arrival. The location was convenient, close to tram stations and Liseberg amusement park.

goteborg hostel was a pleasant surprise. after a disappointing stay in gothenburg before, this time everything was perfect. the rooms and common areas were clean, the staff was friendly, and there was a great shower. the location was convenient, with easy access to public transportation and liseberg amusement park within walking distance.

No hair dryer.

The location of the hostel was very convenient, close to the city center and public transportation options. The staff at the hostel were friendly and helpful, providing good customer service.- The common areas of the hostel, such as the kitchen and common room, were clean and well-maintained.

It seemed that some guests did not clean up after themselves, leaving dirty dishes and food leftovers in the sink. The hostel lacked sufficient staff availability, especially during late arrivals or emergency situations.
